Challenged Outdoorsmen of America- Northeast Texas Outdoors Chapter

The 2009 Fall Fishing Derby for Special needs children took place September 26, 2009 at Eatex Fisheries in Ore City, Texas. 8 youth and children fished and caught 18 channel catfish over 12 inches and many more smaller ones. Below are photos from the event and it is evident from the smiles that it was a complete success. The event included 8 guardians and 16 volunteers for a total of 32 people involved in this event! We saw old friends and made new ones! Thank you Charlie and Geneva Havens, all the volunteers and sponsors that made this fishing derby a great success. Your efforts go above and beyond. Several folks went home with lots of catfish filets. These fish averaged over 1 lb each with some going close to 3 lbs. Check out the smiles and thumbs up in the closing photos!!!!!!!!
